On Wednesday October 26, 2005 approximately 130 Lansing residents RECOGNIZED THE 2000 U.S. MILITARY DEATHS & The DEATH & SUFFERING OF 100,000 PLUS IRAQIS at Public Action – Lansing on the sidewalks and in the median on the north and south side of E. Michigan Ave. in front of Ranney Skate Board Park.

March 19, 2005 - 2nd Anniversary of Iraq War
Actions to protest the Iraq War and Occupation began at the Michigan Capitol at 11:00am with Action Tents and at Lansing Community Colledge with a drumming circle for Peace And Justice. At Noon the drummers proceeded to the Capitol and joined 150 people at a Rally where speakers Adam Shapiro and Huwaida Arraf from the International Solidarity Movement spoke about life under occupation in Iraq and Palestine. A local group of activists presented a round robin rap on the Costs of War. Participants at the rally visited action tents on Youth and Military, Opposing Torture, Human Needs, Immediate Witdrawal From Iraq. Billionaires 4 Bush also were present pointing out who pays and who profits from war. At the end of the rally 13 cyclists from Critical Mass led out the 50 Car Peace Caravan that circled Lansing and East Lansing with the message, US Out of Iraq, Rebuild Our Communities. Caravaners ended at Michigan State University for an indoor rally and the showing of the documentary film "About Baghdad". The 300 plus activists who participated in the days events renewed their commitment to end the war in Iraq and to continue their efforts for peace and justice.
